The Wonder Drug

When I got home from work Friday night Zach was complaining how "freezing cold" our house was. Most of you know that I refuse to keep my house cold. Mike and I both grew up in houses where you took off your coat and put on an extra sweatshirt then ran and sat under blankets to keep warm. Anyway back to my "cold" house....I told him to go to bed and get some rest. Saturday he woke up and said he couldn't swallow. So I grabbed the flashlight and looked in his mouth and could just see white spots all over his tonsils. So after a trip to Express Care and a Z-pack prescription, we were on our way home again. For some reason this is the only antibiotic that works for Zach. He took the pills and went to sleep and by 6:00 pm he was up and back to himself. He did sleep most of yesterday but went to school today without any complaining (except that he had to take the bus). Thank goodness for modern medicine!!

Chinese Food

For 4 days I will be working at China Restaurant for Johnny. He is having fun at Disney World while I suffer through evenings of take out and seating customers. I was very glad to help him out when he asked me back in September to work these nights, but now that they are here, I wish I wouldn't have taken so many. Don't get me wrong, the work is super easy and the free Chinese food?? Who would turn that down!! But I am gone from 8:00 am until 9:00 pm on the weeknights and 10:00 pm Saturday. Doesn't allow for much time at home or to get anything done. But I also realize I haven't spent any money in 2 days too. HMMM......maybe a savings plan for me and a vacation for my boss who does not take much time off.

what to do this weekend??

I think we have a free weekend. What should we do? As the holiday season approaches, I know this will be one of our last until after New Years. I am happy that once again we will be playing it by ear with no real plans for the weekend! Although I am definitely driving Mike's new truck!! :)

Hanging Out

This weekend was so much fun. Mike and I spent the weekend "hanging out". This doesn't happen very often because our kids are in so many activities or there is something going on. It was time very well spent for us. Sometimes we let the kids take over, but this weekend we did not. We even had some family and friends time in there. Try it for yourself!!!

Random Things about Brandy:

1. I love to bake and am pretty good at it. Bake anything bars, cakes, cookies, desserts, etc. Usually when asked to bring something to a gathering, I bring dessert. So this is my secret I am sharing with you.

2. My dream in high school was to have a career in International Business. This explains my love for Europe :)

3. I want to move to North or South Carolina. I have no idea why, but deep down this is a place that I want to live. Call it intuition??

4. I love to color. All of my kids will tell you that we have spent many nights on the living room floor coloring. Snuggled up with a blanket. I also love to play cards and board games, but coloring is my favorite activity with them when they are little.

5. I am thinking of going back to school for my 4 year degree in accounting to become a CPA. Not that I would leave my job, because I love it, but it was another goal of mine that hasn't been accomplished yet.

6. I like to watch 2 sports on TV. I am probably a bigger Nascar fan than Mike and the kids. I will yell, boo, & cheer when the race is on. My favorite driver is Dale Jr. (Don't let Mike convince you it is Kasey Kane.) I also watch hockey. I like the MN Wild and the Chicago Blackhawks. They are my favorite teams.

A new friend

We had a great Halloween and weekend. Friday was beautiful weather for us to be outside The kids did not have to wear coats over their costumes for most of the evening. Saturday we spent blowing & raking leaves. I usually don't do the outside work, but I decided it was time to get in on it. It was very satisfying. (and a little painful too) It was great to spend time with Angie, Barry, and Abram on Friday night. Abram loved to watch the kids and made a new friend of Mike. They read books and played with Mike's hat. Abram may of hurt his mommy's feelings a little, because he whined a little every time Mike gave him up. Sorry Angie, but it was so cute. I think Abram liked the hat Mike was wearing, not just Mike.
